Our annual trip to the orchard

A few weeks ago, we took our annual fall trip to an apple orchard with Grandma Chris and Grandpa Jerry.  It was a nice day, though a little bit cool.  The kids enjoyed a hay ride, climbing on a giant hay pile, seeing some animals, and playing on a train climbing structure.  Throw in face painting, hot apple cider, and apple donuts... and we have the makings of a great autumn day.

Of course, any trip to an apple orchard wouldn't be complete without apple picking. There were lots of perfectly fine apples within easy reach from the ground, but of course the kids insisted as climbing as high as they could to reach the apples on top.  Apparently, they taste better up there.
