 Calvin wrapped up his third year of Little League in June, at the second level: live pitching with no tees, more fielding, and real outs.

It was a great year for him. He worked a lot on his batting stance and throwing and was delighted to see great results. He still isn't a very enthusiastic or confident runner, often shuffling to the next base or waiting to process everything going on around him, which led to some tag outs, but he picked up the pace by the end of the year. It was great fun to see how satisfied he was with his new power at the plate.

He's dismayed, however, that his little brother can still out-hit him. But then, Calvin didn't have three years to watch and learn from the sidelines. Finn gets his chance to play next spring, and Calvin is considering playing fall ball this year.
