A perfect Mother's Day

I need to hustle to get this up before Father's Day gets here! This took forever to post, because I had so many photos from a wonderful day.

The boys surprised me with a Hawaiian-themed Mother's Day: They made coconut, pineapple, and macadamia nut pancakes, served up with bacon and sausage and guava juice. And great gifts! Some new clothes for our summer adventures, poster-size cards now decorating my office corner, and a sweet letter from Calvin.

After breakfast, we were off to the beach! Make that beaches. It was a little cool, but it's pretty obvious from the photos that didn't bother us at all. We started at Bonny Doon Beach, an old favorite, and then got to Davenport Landing just as the sun finally broke through for a bit. We brought home a few lovely shells, and now the boys are sporting gorgeous little shell necklaces Doug helped make.
